President's Message

Ethiopia Adventist College (EAC) was established at Kuyera by a pioneer missionary, Mr. Valdemar E. Toppenberg in 1947. In 2022, we celebrated its 75th year anniversary. Our College is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the country. Its primary goal is to teach student, preach the everlasting gospel, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Our College is known for its inclusiveness and promotion of diversity from the very beginning. Kuyera will continue to be a melting pot for students with various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds living and learning in harmony on a picturesque college campus. Kuyera is also a safe and conducive environment for its employees, who come from every corner of the country to work, live, and raise their children. EAC’s alumni fondly remember and reminisce about their lives at Kuyera whenever they meet in-person  or on social media. At Kuyera, we will continue with our tradition of cohesiveness and harmony even as we diligently work for the growth and development of the College.

As a Seventh Day Adventist institution, at EAC, we promote and practice the “I Will Go” theme of 2020-2025 strategic focus of the SDA Church. To expand our academic offerings and serve more students, we are working on a five-year (2022-2027) project. There will be a gradual transition to Kuyera Adventist University and enroll more students from all parts of the country. We are grateful to all who have been constantly supporting this important project and encourage others to do the same.

Students will always remain our top priority as their family members and sponsors entrusted them to us. Therefore, we will continue to improve the quality of service for our students. At EAC, we value our students and alumni; as we measure our success by their success.

The wholistic development of students is the bedrock of Seventh-day Adventist education. The Adventist philosophy of education encapsulates this intent, as it promotes the expectation that students will not only grow intellectually, but also spiritually and physically as a result of each course of study. This unique approach to education is intended to serve the dual purpose of preparing the student for useful service on earth as well as for eternal life in heaven.
