ABOUT EDPM
The Department of Educational planning and management was launched in country with the objective of addressing the country’s trained human power shortage in the field of Education. The program provides instruction on education theories and a rigorous foundation in the analytical tools and applied areas of educational planning and management.
As per the new policy of the Ethiopian government to mitigate the manpower shortage in this field of study, the department aspires to produce qualified citizens who are going to participate in research and development, teaching and consultancy service that the education demands and thereby contribute towards the fulfillment of the development policies and strategies of the country. Therefore, its plan is to educate and train students in this field of specialization.
The need assessment results show that there is ever growing demand for the department of educational planning management, coupled with the strong need of the nation justified the launching of the program in 2009 EC to produce professionals with the necessary skills required in the contemporary development endeavors of the nation.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
The aim of the program is to produce high level professionals in Educational planning  and management  high-level qualified experts in different professions that will benefit the country’s sustainable economic development and foster growth and transformation process of Ethiopia to reach the middle-income countries in the near future, through offering students a comprehensive basis for professional and academic careers and further education in any educational planning and management  specializations, and thesis work. The program will equip students with a solid knowledge of education  theory as applied to development issues, natural resources, and other socio-economic issues concerning the developing countries in particular and the globe in general.       Â
