President’s Message
Welcome to the Ethiopia Adventist College (EAC) website!
EAC is an Adventist institution of higher learning that is rich in history, academic excellence, and holistic Christian values. The college traces its history back to the humble beginning as elementary school in 1947 in a place called Kuyera, West Arsi Zone,OromiyaRegionalState. The school grew into junior secondary school in 1950. Shortly thereafter, the institution included a Teachers’ Training program as well as a full secondary school. By 1964, a college program was established for the purpose of preparing people to train workers and leaders of the church and to prepare an educated laity to serve the world church.
In 1975, due to adverse conditions of revolution in the country, the college program was forced to close. It was in 1990 when it reopened and began offering diploma programs in Business Administration, Education in Agriculture, English, Biology, Religion and Ministerial program, Community Development and Leadership, Automotive Technology, and Computer Science. These programs were recognized at diploma level by the Ministry of Education of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia in 1998. In 2002, the Ministry of Education granted accreditation for the degree programs and officially recognized EAC as a senior college.
At present, EAC is offering Technical & Vocational Education Training (TVET) as well as degree programs. In addition, EAC runs the academy, elementary and junior secondary, as well as an overseas school which serve as auxiliary department of the college
In the past 64 years of its existence, EAC has passed through a number of challenges and achieved many developmental milestones which have laid the foundation for its current development. As we look back, we are reminded that “Our strength lies in taking our burdens to the great Burden Bearer” .
Once again welcome to EAC website! I am sure that you will find much useful information about EAC as you browse through this website.
Sincerely
Korso Gude, PhD
